A Breath of Mountain Air
The stillness broke when cool mountain air drew into my nostrils. I blinked, realizing my eyes were tracking the distant ridge lines beneath the cloudy sky. Slowly, I lifted my hand and reached forward, letting my fingers brush against the tip of a tall blade of wild grass standing by my side. It bent softly against my touch and sprang back. I lowered my hand to my side, steady on my boots, observing the broad meadow before me in quiet composure.
