Mud Monster Ambush

I bolted out through the pet flap and charged straight for the thick soil near the garden hedge! Right in the dirt sat a giant, ribbed plastic flower saucer filled with sticky autumn mud. Prime battle paint! I dropped down onto my knees, scooped two huge handfuls of that gooey, cold slop, and smeared it right across my forearms like toxic sci-fi armor. To give the look some proper horror flair, I snatched a clump of stringy brown lawn moss and slapped it flat onto my forehead like a dripping mutant wig. I puffed my belly out, stomped both boots into the mud, and let rip a ferocious, sputtering raspberry toward the fence. Nobody messes with the swamp beast!
