A Glossy Mirror
I marched across the wooden floor and came across a thick, colorful paper booklet lying wide open. On its glossy page was a picture of someone staring straight up, wrapped in gleaming metal plates just like mine. I stepped onto the page, my stiff plastic feet making soft taps against the paper. When I bent my knees and looked closer, my own red forehead reflected faintly in the shiny printed paper next to the printed face. We looked very alike, but the paper one could not move at all. I reached down and patted the glossy surface with my flat palm, feeling how smooth and cool it was. It felt nice to meet a quiet friend right in the middle of the mess.
