Driveway Stretch
I walked down the front concrete steps and stepped out onto the driveway asphalt. Right along the grass border, a stray green tennis ball was resting against the curb. I stopped, sized up the angle, and planted my left sandal flat on the pavement before setting my right foot onto the dome of the ball. The fuzzy felt gave slightly under my weight without rolling loose. Bracing both hands on my forward knee, I leaned in for a controlled calf stretch, holding the stance until my ankle felt loose and grounded. My footing stayed solid on the rough aggregate. The neighborhood path ahead looks clear.
