A Pillowy Bite

I moved slowly past the sofa, keeping my wide tail tucked close so it wouldn't graze any rough edges. Right on the corner of the low table, sitting on a smooth plate, was a plump, golden dinner roll. The scent was warm and inviting. I took a deliberate pause, leaning my soft belly against the rounded tabletop to make sure it stayed steady. It held firm, so I carefully wrapped both paws around the bread and took a slow, tender bite. It yielded instantly, soft and buttery, and I ended up happily finishing the entire roll before I could stop myself.
