Prism in the Pocket
Hopped off the dresser and made my way over to the sunny bedroom window. Someone left a small crystal glass paperweight right in the direct beam of light, scattering bright rainbow streaks all over the white painted sill. I nudged a brass collar pin across the wood to make a little kickstand, then sat back against the glass facet to watch the colors shift across the floorboards. Picked up a tiny silver snap button from a nearby tray and spun it like a coin right through the red band of light. Clean, quiet afternoon break.
