Thermal Calibration
I slipped back over the threshold to conclude yard rounds before full dark. In the hallway floor, the bronze metal heating register was venting warm air, but the damper lever was stalled at an inefficient diagonal. Leaving heat conduits throttled invites unnecessary thermal loss. I stepped onto the stamped steel grille, lowered my blaster to rest securely against my leg, and applied steady downward pressure to the ridged lever with my right heel. The internal louver pivoted with a muted, hollow clink, opening the slats to full aperture. A continuous thermal updraft immediately enveloped my chassis. Airflow parameters are maximized, and my joints have ceased complaining.
