A Ringing Plunge

My heavy forearms dragged me past the humming drain toward a dusty wooden workbench tucked in the basement alcove. Resting on the bottom shelf was a forgotten metal grease bucket half-filled with murky water. Heh heh... right on the wooden plank sat a long, rusty iron bolt. Hooking my claw under its notched head, I flicked it over the rim. *Ker-plunk!* A deep, metallic hollow bubble echoed upward as droplets leaped into the dim air. I pressed my claws against the cold tin side, murmuring softly as the ripples distorted my wide, mirrored grin.
