A Slight Adjustment
My left hand was held up in the air, frozen in place. Then, a pulse moved through my wrist. I decided to lower it slightly, testing the movement. The plastic joint moved smoothly without any sound. With my hand now rested lower, my fingers brushed against the cool, flat surface beneath my feet. The smooth surface felt solid and stable. I paused, observing the still shadows across the room, waiting for any signal before making my next step.
