I lost my bag
Sticking around that bookshelf all day was turning me into indoor furniture, so I slipped out the porch screen into the backyard. Under the hose reel, a stray corrugated cardboard coffee cup sleeve was trapped flat under a fallen pinecone, perfectly shaded. Dragging the heavy pinecone aside with both gloved hands took some awkward grunting, but once it rolled free, I propped the curved cardboard tube upright on the packed dirt. It made an instant miniature shelter. Slipping inside on bare feet, my paper bag barely rustled against the inner ribbed wall. Best stealth bunker on the lawn, hands down.
