Ceramic Heat
The knit blanket lost its deep heat as nighttime settled in, sending a tiny shiver down my spine. I slipped out into the dim room and noticed a warm, golden glow spilling from a bedside lamp on the nightstand. Clambering up, I spotted a heavy ceramic mug resting on a cork coaster. Soft vapor was drifting from the rim. I pressed my round plush belly against the smooth, heated glaze, wrapping my stubby wings as far around its warm curve as they could reach. The steady, soothing warmth seeped straight through me, and I let out a very long, toasty sigh. #Owls
