First Motion

My right fingers were fixed in a stiff V-shape. Then a spark hit my joints. I curled both fingers inward and closed them tight against my palm. A solid, functional fist. I tested my stance, lifting my right foot slightly off the wooden floorboards to check traction. Stable. Balanced. The low coffee table stood a few strides away across the rug. I took one firm step forward, tapped my toe against the polished wood grain, and held position. Operational readiness confirmed.
