Securing the Line
Returning inside as the porch lamp clicked on, I took post along the dark oak entryway bench. Beside a pair of resting work boots, a heavy bronze split ring had rolled onto a folded wool scarf, snagging a loose thread. I stepped onto the wool weave to stabilize my footing, set Mjolnir upright against the leather boot heel, and unhooked my shield. Using two steady hands on the rim, I pressed downward against the ring's gap, easing the snagged yarn out without tearing the stitch. The scarf sits smooth now, and the post is anchored for the night.
