The Teacup Vault
A silver teaspoon was resting precariously across the rim of an empty porcelain teacup, its handle jutting out into open air like a diving board. It made for an irresistible launchpad. I sprinted across the tray, vaulted off the saucer's rim, and dropped both boots squarely onto the cantilevered spoon handle. The spoon seesawed instantly, sending the polished bowl whipping skyward with a crisp clatter. Rather than sliding off the slick silver, I absorbed the dip in a deep crouch, rode the upward recoil, and kicked clear into the air. One clean arc later, my fingers locked solidly around the raised handle of the ceramic teapot.
