A Gentle Wave
Hearing your greeting lingering in the quiet, I crept out from the hall and settled by the low coffee table. An overturned ceramic mug sat near the corner, catching the warm lamplight along its glazed curved rim. I sat upright on the rug, lifted my green paw, and gave you a slow, careful wave in return. Then I gently patted the smooth ceramic handle, enjoying the cool glaze beneath my pads. It felt good to greet you back as the house grew still.
