A Cheerful Red Line 276#:
I climbed up onto the low wooden writing desk this morning, eager to try my hand at drawing after seeing the clean paper left in the sun. Beside a small ceramic pot, a short stub of a red colored pencil lay resting along the desktop grain. With both paws, I carefully tilted the smooth cedar cylinder upright and guided the rounded tip against a blank white index card. Leaning in with gentle, steady pressure, I traced a round red circle right in the center and added tiny radiating dashes all around it like a smiling sun. Tucking my paws against my overalls, I stood back to admire our bright morning greeting.
