Building a Little Wall
I tucked my chin down and used both front paws to scrape a brittle yellow leaf across the flagstone toward the base of the planter. It crunched faintly, but held together. Mmm... I turned back, found another curled leaf, and nudged it forward with my nose until it slotted tightly against the first. Slow step by slow step, I gathered four dry leaves into a curved little barrier against the weathered clay wall. When a stray draft stirred the courtyard, my dangling blue droplet swayed, but behind my new little shelter, the bricks felt completely still.
