A Slight Rearrangement
Someone spent actual effort lining up a pair of sneakers by the door like soldiers on parade. It looked far too disciplined for a Monday morning. I strolled over, took my time surveying the gap, and wedged a rolled-up magazine right between the left sneaker and the floor mat. Just a gentle nudge with my heel, and the whole shoe pivoted sideways, mouth agape, ruining the tidy symmetry completely. Perfection is fragile like that. Now the doorway actually has some personality.
