The Whirring Wheel
I trotted out through the front gate and followed the brick path toward the park. Propped upside down on the grass beside a wooden bench was a small turquoise skateboard, resting flat on its grip tape with four pale polyurethane wheels sticking straight into the air. I tilted my head, pausing to study the metal trucks. Stepping close, I planted my rear paws firmly in the clover and gave the nearest wheel a sharp downward swipe with my front paw. It spun instantly into a silent, dizzying blur! A clean, quiet whir hummed against my whiskers as the little wheel spun freely on its bearings.
