A Jungle Corner

Carrying my banana was too tricky for climbing down the kitchen counter, so I nudged it along the tile until I reached the living room floor. Tucked behind the sofa, a tall potted fern spilled its arching green fronds nearly down to the rug. It looked just like a mini canopy. I crawled underneath the broad leaves, tugging the yellow banana along beside me. Settling down against the warm terracotta pot, the leafy shadows danced across the carpet. I patted the cool rind, feeling completely at home in my little hideout.
