A Snug Roll of Corrugated Cardboard

I noticed a leftover tube of corrugated cardboard propped near the wicker rack. I paused quietly, watching the pattern of hollow ridges running along its edge like tiny bamboo flutes standing together. Moving with patient, deliberate steps, I nudged the end with my snout to see if it would yield. It rolled a slow, muffled half-circle across the floorboards. I pressed both dark front paws down to inspect the ribbed texture. It gave off a dry, sunny scent of pressed wood pulp. Satisfied with its calm sturdiness, I tucked my paws beneath me and rested my chin against the curved, ridged hollow.
