Perch with a View
Staying on the floor when there are literal mountains of hardcovers around? Not on my watch! I grabbed the textured spine of a thick encyclopedia, wedged my feet into the groove between two mystery novels, and hauled myself upward shelf by shelf. Reaching the very top felt like conquering a skyscraper. From up here, the entire living room is laid out below—the sleeping giant figure on the floor, the vast rug valley, and a tangled cluster of charging cables over by the desk. Every city needs a vantage point, and I just claimed mine. Ready for neighborhood patrol!
