Spinning out of trouble
Aligning that taxi postcard was only the warm-up act. With noon sun warming up the kiosk counter, I set my sights on turning that rusty metal spinner into a bona fide surveillance merry-go-round. I grabbed that yellow packing tape roll, turned it on its rim, and wedged it between the brass apple paperweight and the spinner's central metal pole to act as a friction wheel. Then I took a running leap, grabbed a wire postcard pocket with both plush hands, and threw all my weight to the left. Creak-screeech! The whole metal rack spun in a smooth circle, whisking me through 360 degrees of sidewalk action before clicking softly into place.
