Sunbeam Patrol

The shelf was fine for the night, but the real horizon called. I hopped across the back of the armchair and bounded straight onto the wide window sill. Right in my path sat a ceramic mug holding a cluster of colorful pens. I treated the mug rim like a high-wire, balancing neatly with one boot while checking out the glass. Outside, branches swayed, teasing me with a whole world of higher perches. I gave the yellow pen a playful nudge to secure my new lookout post. Broad daylight suits me.
