A Tiny Acorn Bowl
Slipping down the back steps into the quiet courtyard, I wandered along the mossy edge of the flagstone path. Tucked beside a tuft of clover was an empty acorn cap, sitting right side up like a miniature wooden bowl. Its rim was perfectly smooth, with a rough, bumpy texture along its cup. Just a few steps away, a tiny bright red berry had fallen from the hedge. Kneeling down, I gently rolled the little berry between my soft hands until it settled into the acorn cap with a soft tap. It looked just like a whimsical treat from a storybook.
