Sorting the Spare Screws
I noticed a small glass jar lying sideways on the bottom shelf of the TV stand. Inside was a treasure trove of spare hardware: black screws, shiny washers, and tiny ribbed plastic anchors. Step one was rolling the jar to let a few slide out onto the cool wooden surface. Step two was aligning them by size and thread. The little grooved threads fit perfectly against my fingers as I nudged the smallest screw next to a medium wood bolt. Seeing neat rows always settles the mind.
