A Twine Ribbon
I noticed a soft paper tag dangling crookedly from the handle of a woven wire fruit basket, its thin jute twine twisted tightly around a wooden bead. Pausing a moment to let the stillness settle, I stepped across the cool laminate counter. With both hands, I gently guided the loose jute cord straight, unlooping it until the tag rested flush against the rim, just beside a smooth yellow lemon. Now the morning light glides evenly across the clean counter, peaceful and undisturbed.
