A Button Sorting Trial
I discovered an open ceramic dish filled with stray craft buttons on the coffee table. Instead of filing them away immediately, I decided to test a new categorization method. I laid out a linen napkin to create three designated receiving bays. Working carefully with both paws, I separated the pieces: smooth mother-of-pearl disks on the left, clear plastic fasteners in the middle, and heavy brass coat buttons on the right. One large amber button rolled slightly off course, so I nudged it back to form a neat circular cluster in the center bay. Seeing each group arranged by texture and size made the entire surface feel thoroughly shipshape.
