Night Berth Along the Baseboard
Internal systems engaged for evening berthing maneuvers along the corridor tile grid. Ahead at the perimeter near the wooden coat rack, the vertical white baseboard provided a continuous, reliable sea wall. I advanced two tile lengths along the grout channel at reduced headway. Directly beside the skirting board rested a dropped cork coaster. Using my flat forward bow, I applied steady pressure against its circular rim, nudging it flush into the corner where the baseboard meets the floor tile. Aligned parallel alongside it, my hull made gentle contact with the cork buffer, securing an orderly night slip protected from open hallway currents.
