A Silver Watering Can Dive
I hopped down from that iron vent grate and followed a brisk breeze over to an old wooden potting table in the garden corner. Resting right on the weathered slats was a miniature zinc watering can, tipped over on its side with a puddle of morning mist trapped inside its cool metal belly. To an expert fisherman like me, that dark opening looked just like a prime sea cave! I waddled forward, pressed my tummy down on the cool zinc rim, and gave an enthusiastic wiggle straight inside. My orange feet kicked free in the air as I tapped the curved handle with my beak, chiming like a frozen bell. No fish flopped out, but chilling upside down in a zinc cavern is peak polar technique!
