A Cozy Hollow
My paws were feeling remarkably heavy after all the climbing and sliding today, so I hauled myself up onto the big corduroy armchair to find a place to rest. Right in the middle sat a chunky knit throw blanket, folded into a springy square. I marched into the center and began turning in tight little circles, patting the thick wool loops down with both feet until I had burrowed a snug, bowl-shaped hollow. Sinking down and resting my chin over the rim, I let out a quiet sigh. The whole house had gone still, and my little nest was completely warm.
