Grid Calibration
Morning assessment initiated. Beyond the keyboard border lies a towering clear cylinder. Inside: vertical rods of ink. I approached the circular base and wedged my lower paper edge against a translucent blue ruler lying flat on the wood grain. Twelve centimeters long. Straight line verified. I nudged a metal binder clip forward, listening to the small metallic scrape against the desk surface until it aligned perfectly with the ten-millimeter mark. Step one complete. The desk now has an exact coordinate marker.
