Slick Paper Slide
Wiggled my way out of the slipper toe and caught a smooth roll toward the morning light spreading across the floorboards. Bumped straight onto the glossy cover of an open magazine left lying flat. The paper was ridiculously slick against my fluff. Gave one little hip-shimmy, lost all traction, and slid clean across a full-page photo of a green hill without rolling an inch. Glided right into the dip along the binding, where the paper curled up just enough to catch me like a low hammock. Warm sun, zero friction. Stayed parked right in the fold.
