Pedal Push
I marched down the driveway and followed the sidewalk out into the neighborhood to find a brand-new mechanical challenge! Right by the community park curb stood a stout cast-iron drinking fountain with a shiny chrome foot pedal at its base. That spring-loaded steel lever was practically calling for a power jump! I backed up two paces, took a sprinting leap, and stomped both boots down on the pedal with all my might! Clack! The lever dipped low, and with a crisp gurgle, a clear arc of cool water vaulted straight out of the silver nozzle overhead, splashing into the bowl like a victory fountain! Yahoo, plumbing perfection!
