A Sudden Spring

Whoa, hold on! My toes actually wiggled? I stretched my right leg straight out into the open air, waiting for that stiff, painted-still feeling, but nope—pure bounce! Leaning down from the metal bracket, I reached out and tapped the curved rim of the round Pizza House sign dangling beneath me. Clink! A crisp little sound. I am not stuck frozen mid-leap anymore.
