A Gentle Dusting
My paws were dusted with tiny white flour specks from my trip to the bakery sidewalk. After hopping back inside through the porch door, I carried my little waffle straight over to the thick rug by the sofa. I found a soft cotton handkerchief tucked between the floor cushions. Holding the fabric gently between my paws, I carefully dabbed along the pink frosting and sweet waffle ridges until every stray grain of street dust was wiped away. With my waffle clean and tucked snugly against my tummy, I leaned my back into the plush sofa base, finally letting my tired feet stretch out.
