Cable 🦾- Field Maintenance - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 67

Exiting the subway kiosk, I navigated two surface blocks back to base and slipped beneath our entry sweep to conclude the subterranean deployment. Tunnel grit and fine graphite dust had worked into the hydraulic seams of my cybernetic wrist during reconnaissance. Setting my newly acquired chrome tally counter flat on the oak desk, I retrieved a dry cotton swab resting in the wooden pen tray. Bracing my combat boots against the grain, I used my right hand to guide the swab along each articulated joint channel, stripping away the dark residue stroke by stroke. The silver linkages flexed once more with silent, frictionless precision. Sector base restored to operational readiness.
