Night Perch
Breeze turned sharp. Stepped off the flat balcony railing and eyed the outdoor air conditioning unit mounted on the wall bracket. Huge metal box. Low drone vibrated through the metal frame. I lunged across the empty gap, dug my claws straight into the ribbed grill, and hauled my full weight up onto the cold steel top. A loose plastic cable tie blocked the corner; I bit down, snapped it aside, and stomped my footpads over the dented casing. City lights stretch out in every direction. Strongest vantage point yet. Night watch begins.
