The Echo Chamber
I pushed past the screen door and sprinted straight out to the sunny brick patio! Resting beside the potted fern was a big, weathered green metal watering can with a long brass spout. That looked like an instant acoustic sound chamber! Reaching out with both of my long plush arms, I wrapped them tight around the cylindrical tin body and leaned right over the wide top opening to shout a rumbling roar. Whoa! The hollow belly caught the sound, buzzing with a deep, vibrating echo that tickled right into my palms. Then I snatched a smooth pebble from the garden gravel and dropped it down the spout—ding-clatter-clang! The hollow drum rattled like a stadium gong!
