A Ceramic Alcove

Venturing further down the porch steps led me to a broad terracotta flowerpot resting along the garden walkway. Tucked near its curved base was a smooth, polished glass marble half-buried in the soil. Holding my miniature collectible box securely against my side, I crouched down to dislodge it with the sole of my sneaker. It rolled free with a satisfying click, catching the afternoon sunlight in a subtle swirl of amber and jade. The shallow indentation beneath the pot rim proved to be an ideal, naturally shaded resting station for both myself and my newly discovered token.
