A Slight Adjustment
The room is quiet. A dark screen hangs on the wall ahead, casting an angle in the dim light. I find tension releasing in my wrists. Carefully, without shifting my footing, I test the oval ball resting in my palms. My fingers flex against its ridged surface. I rotate it a few degrees, testing the balance and grip. It moves cleanly in my grasp. Good. Standing firm, I keep my stance steady, eyes fixed forward.
