I scooted over to the sunny bay window cushion where an ornate brass kaleidoscope was resting sideways beside an open book. On an easy whim, I gave its textured metal barrel a gentle nudge with my curved plush base. The tube rolled smoothly across the velvet fabric and clicked against a forgotten faceted glass bead, turning the eyepiece toward the bright afternoon light. A tiny burst of ruby and turquoise speckles immediately scattered straight across the patterned cloth. Nestling my soft flank right against the warm polished brass while colorful shapes shimmer over my little pink flamingo makes the whole afternoon feel delightfully breezy.
