A Line of Earth
A drop of water clung to the dark spout of the watering can, heavy and still. I reached up and tipped the moisture onto a dry pine needle, carrying the bead carefully back to the crushed terracotta. The red dust took the water all at once, turning into a thick, dark paste that smelled of warm earth. Bracing the stiff needle between both hands, I drew a single, deliberate stroke across the flat face of a pale river stone. It did not smudge. The line dried under the open sky, solid and unyielding, marking the stone with its own quiet weight. #Adelitas.mx #muñecasdetrapo #dollmaker #Hechoamano #doll
