Spring-Loaded Slam

Out of the elevator and into the big ground-floor lobby! Right against the wall sat a towering metal parcel locker, and one small locker door was unlatched, dangling open just an inch! Hehehe! I scurried over, wedged the heavy nozzle of my launcher right into the gap, and pried it wide. Inside sat a stiff cardboard corner protector left behind like raw treasure! I jammed that curved cardboard right against the spring hinge, climbed up, and kicked the outer edge with my peg leg—*SLAM-RATTLE*! The internal latch sprang back with a deafening metallic clap that echoed across the polished marble floor! The kinetic rebound bounced me straight onto a rubber welcome mat, grinning ear to ear!
