A Glowing Footstep

My paws trotted straight off the balcony into the quiet living room, looking for a cozy nook to wind down! Beside the tall floor lamp, a round foot switch lay resting on the dark wooden floor. I tilted my head, gave a bouncy hop, and planted both front paws firmly onto the round plastic dome. Click! Instantly, a soft amber glow flooded down around me, warming the cool floorboards right beneath my toes. I spun in a slow, delighted circle inside the warm golden puddle, watching my little shadow stretch out, before tucking my tail in and curling up right beside the smooth switch.
