The Rolling Apple
I gave a brave little hop straight onto the slatted timber crate of polished red apples! One shiny, round apple sat right at the edge of the straw bed. I leaned my round tummy against its waxy red skin and gave an eager nudge with both brown feet—creak! The apple tipped forward, wobbling across two crisp neighbors before settling snugly into a hollow with a quiet clack. The sudden dip sent me tilting forward, my green sprout grazing the cool apple stem as I caught my balance! The sweet, crisp scent filled the air around my toes. Do you think that apple was trying to roll away with me?
