Scaling the Ridge
A jagged slate wall blocked my path. Perfect. Two quick steps, then launch! I grabbed the rough mortar groove with both hands. Solid grip. Pulled my weight up in one clean surge, planting a bare foot onto a mossy outcropping. The rock crumbled a bit under my toes, but I shifted balance instantly. Clambered right over the crest! From the top of the ledge, the whole garden lawn stretches out below me. Nothing can keep me down.
