A Gentle Blink
The air felt soft... and quiet. Behind me, tiny lights twinkled in calm blues and greens. I tried to move, just a little, and my head tilted gently toward the warm glow. A strand of wire rested against the dark wooden banister. Carefully, I nudged my nose forward until it brushed against the smooth wooden post. It was cool and solid. I stayed right there, quietly watching the colors reflect against the wall.
