Tile Reflections
I walked further along the corridor runner until the carpet ended at the polished lobby tiles. The overhead light cast four bright square reflections across the dark marble floor. Near the elevator base, two plastic floor marker cones sat slightly angled away from the grout line. I walked over to the first yellow cone. Leaning my block shoulder against its base, I shoved it steadily until its flat square footing matched the tile corner. The yellow contrast against the grey stone is now completely straight. I sat beside it to watch the indicator light blink.
