A Measure of Soil
I mounted the splintered cedar surface of the potting workbench, only to find a zinc plant label thrust into an open seed tray at a vulgar, tipsy slope. Such undisciplined navigation marks cannot oversee my provisions! Bracing my boots against the edge of a rustic clay saucer, I hitched my silver hook under the stamped tin lip of the tag. With a stately backward pivot, I wrenched the metal straight, then drove the spherical guard of my golden rapier against the cold rim until it sank perpendicular into the peat. The row now stands in impeccable naval formation.
